As the project's lead designer, I was in charge of managing a team of ten designers tasked with creating a music app with a new feature. I proposed splitting the team into two groups during our first stand-up meeting to ensure efficient use of time - the User Experience (UX) team and the User Interface (UI) team.
This would allow us to work on both the app's functionality and visual design at the same time, ensuring that we met our one-week project deadline.
I was actively involved in both teams, working closely with the UX team to define user personas, map user journeys, and design wireframes, and collaborating with the UI team to create a visually appealing interface that aligned with the user experience goals. Throughout the project, I ensured that both teams maintained clear communication, and I facilitated frequent check-ins to ensure that everyone was aligned on the project's goals and timeline. By leveraging the strengths of both teams and working in parallel, we were able to deliver a high-quality music app with a new feature that met the project's objectives within the given timeframe.
